THE MUFFIN MAN
(Written in 2011)
Dedicated to my cousin, Aaron...he made up this part of this story and told it to me when I was a child just to scare me, so I thought I would make it a little longer and with more detail.
Introduction
Everyone knows the Muffin Man, but how well do they REALLY know? Read on and you'll think twice about biting into another gingerbread man!
Everyone thinks of the muffin man as the man who makes sweet treats such as gingerbread men, but there's a dark side to him.
His real name was Howard Quinn and he lived far in the woods all alone in his home where he made his treats then sold them at the market.
No one had been to his house unless they stumbled upon it while taking a stroll through those woods.
Hardly anyone did except for a curious teenager or two because it was said that Howard's belated wife haunted them.
When asked about her, he would just frown and say it was an unfortunate accident, then pat his apron and say it was the last thing she made him before she passed.
The time the muffin man made a new batter for his gingerbread, there was also a murderer on the loose.
Bones of four children were found in the woods, but no other evidence was found, so they dropped the case.
Howard sat in his chair, writing down his new recipe when he heard a noise outside. He looked out the window and seen a blood trail.
Instead of being scared, he walked out and followed the trail to the barn.
The boogeyman, Carl, had three more children and Howard just smiled.
Then, the next day, at the market, he sold all his gingerbread men. More orders were coming in...business was booming with his new recipe or so he thought...the product fell into the wrong hands and the case was back open.
The police went to the muffin man's house, busted down the door and dragged him out, demanding that he hand over the recipe and show them the remains of the children he used in his newest recipe.
Howard pleaded guilty, but informed he didn't act alone.
The police are still looking for the boogeyman, so be careful and check under your bed before you go to sleep!!!
